Contrave is a prescription medication used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle to help adults lose weight and maintain weight loss. It contains two FDA-approved medications: bupropion and naltrexone. These medications work together to reduce food cravings and help you feel full longer. Contrave is an adjustable-dose medicine, meaning your healthcare provider will adjust your dose over several weeks.

Store Contrave at room temperature, between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C).
Keep Contrave and all medications out of reach of children.
Do not refrigerate or freeze Contrave.
Keep Contrave in the original container and keep the container tightly closed to protect from moisture.
Do not share Contrave with others, as it is prescribed for you specifically and will not have the same effects on others

Consult your healthcare professional before starting treatment with Contrave. This medication is not appropriate for everyone, and your doctor must evaluate if it's right for you.
Follow your healthcare provider's instructions when taking Contrave. It comes as a sublingual tablet (tablet placed under the tongue).
Start with a single tablet (0.5mg bupropion/36mg naltrexone) once daily for 7 days, then gradually increase the dose as instructed by your healthcare professional.
Do not crush, chew, or swallow Contrave tablets. Place the tablet under your tongue and allow it to dissolve completely. It may take up to an hour for the tablet to dissolve.
Swallow any remaining crumbs with a glass of water.
Take Contrave at the same time every day, with or without food.
If you feel the need to eat less often, try to schedule your Contrave dosing around your meal times.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's close to the time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your normal dosing schedule.
