Usage Directions
Description

Saxenda 18mg/3ml is a prescription medication used for weight loss in adults with obesity, or overweight with at least one weight-related health condition. It contains Liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, that works by helping to manage appetite and blood sugar levels. It is available as a pre-filled disposable pen for daily subcutaneous injection.

Storage Guide

Store Saxenda Pen:

  • You should store the Saxenda injection in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use it.
  • Do not freeze it, and do not use the pen if it has been frozen.
  • Once you’ve started using Saxenda, you can keep it in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
  • It is good for use for up to 30 days.
  • Protect the pen from exposure to sunlight or heat.
  • After each injection, remove the needle and replace the cap on the pen.
  • Do not store the injection pen with a needle still attached.
  • Keep the injection out of reach of children and pets.
  • Dispose of the pen safely in a sharp, non-reusable disposable container after 30 days of use, even if medication remains in the pen.

Before Use:

  • Consult your doctor before using Saxenda. Tell them about your medical history, conditions, allergies, and any other medications you are taking.
  • Read the Instructions for Use (IFU) carefully before use.
  • Ensure appropriate dosage and frequency based on your doctor's recommendation.

Preparing for Injection:

  1. Wash hands and clean the injection site.
  2. Check pen влаde for any leakage, damage, or expiration date.
  3. Dial the set dose on the pen according to the prescribed dose.

Taking the Injection:

  1. Firmly press the pen downwards to inject.
  2. For best results, inject subcutaneously in the abdomen region, thigh, or upper arm.
  3. Rotate injection sites each time and do not use the same spot two days in a row.

Monitoring:

  • Use a blood glucose monitor to check your blood sugar levels regularly.
  • If you experience serious side effects or any new symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
