Description

Trulicity is a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to a class of medications called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. Trulicity works by helping your pancreas to produce more insulin when your blood sugar is high and decreasing the amount of glucagon when your blood sugar is low, thus helping to regulate your blood sugar levels.

Storage Guide
  1. Store unopened and unused Trulicity: Store Trulicity in the original carton in a refrigerator between 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze Trulicity, and avoid exposing the medication to direct light.

  2. After first use: After opening the tray in the carton, store the pen with the needle attached in a refrigerator between 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) for up to 56 days or at room temperature below 86°F (30°C) for up to 30 days. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

  3. Discarding Trulicity: Dispose of medical waste, including used Trulicity pens, in accordance with local regulations. Contact your healthcare provider or pharmacist for guidance regarding disposal.

Please ensure you consult with your healthcare professional before using Trulicity and follow their guidance carefully. This description is for general informational purposes, and the specific usage and dosing will depend on your individual circumstances

  1. Before using Trulicity: If you have allergies to dulaglutide or any of the ingredients in Trulicity, do not use this medication. Before starting, tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including pancreas or kidney problems. Inform your doctor if your diet contains a lot of carbohydrates or if you've recently changed your diet or started using insulin.

  2. Technique for using Trulicity: Trulicity is injected subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Prepare the injection according to the instructions provided in the packaging or your healthcare professional's instructions. Each Trulicity pen comes with a 1-month supply of doses. After drying the injection site, apply gentle pressure with a cotton ball or swab to minimize bleeding.

  3. Dosing: The recommended Trulicity starting dose is 0.75 mg (one pen) injected subcutaneously once a week. Based on individual response and tolerability, your doctor may adjust the dose up to 1.5 mg (two pens) if appropriate. Follow your doctor's prescription instructions closely.

  4. When to inject: Ordinarily, Trulicity should be injected on the same day each week, at any time of the day, without regard to meals, although consistency with respect to meal timing may be beneficial. Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions.
